Raising Awareness of Sexual Abuse among Children with Intellectual Disabilities: A Survey of Teachers' Views

Sexual abuse is one of the most dangerous phenomena that can overwhelm any society. Children with ID seem to be among groups highest risks for sexual abuse/maltreatment. This research aims investigate teachers' views regarding how raising awareness children intellectual disabilities. phenomenon not spared even mentally handicapped, as they may realize extent are exposed and tell anyone about it, because do understand standards religion, society, social behavior. The sample was 40 teachers disabilities from Madina El Monawara. study utilized a qualitative technique. To collect data, semi-structured interview method employed. In response some big questions: What causes high prevalence rates in individuals ID? How raise disabilities' Abuse? According views, lack skills, knowledge, inequality relationships, fact cases, need depend on others were main causes. Educating say no bad touches, getting report being victims abuse, them what or crime, afraid repercussions face their abuser, feel ashamed, embarrassed, blame themselves frequently reported recommendations Abuse.
